The new CNG city buses are the first buses with type 4 composite cylinders in the country. Iveco s.p.a. has been selected by the Kazakh authorities to upgrade the fleet of public transport vehicles for the World Expo to be held in Kazakhstan in 2017 under the theme “Energy of the Future.”

Kazakhstan represents a new market to Hexagon Composites. Kazakhstan owns large reserves of energy resources and has started to develop its CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) market. The main market driver for the CNG market in Kazakhstan is local availability and the low gas price relative to conventional fuel.

“We are very proud that Iveco decided to deliver their new buses with our Type 4 systems. These buses will play a major role in the upcoming World Expo 2017 in Astana. Our technology will provide significant savings and reliability for the bus fleet operator and passengers. We look forward to introducing our technology in the promising Kazakh market”, comments Milosz Szymaniak, Sales Manager at Hexagon Raufoss.
